Are old versions of one file irretrievably lost or is the previous version 'hidden' somewhere?

Hello, apparently I accidentally ‘deleted’ or overwrote a version of a file in Adobe Express. I just then read about this feature with the ‘tagged/marked versions’ (I don’t know what is the precise term in English since I use the German UI). I did not mark it. Is my previous version gone for good? :( It would be quite catastrophic. Is there any possibility to retrieve the old version?

    we’re really sorry you’re dealing with this — we know how stressful it is to lose an earlier version unexpectedly.

    In Adobe Express, earlier versions are only available if they were explicitly saved or marked. Please check Your Stuff for duplicates, confirm you’re logged in with the same account/login method, and—if this happened on mobile—reopen Express on the same device in case the file hadn’t synced yet.

      Thanks for your patience — we understand how concerning this situation can be.

      Adobe Express files are saved as Creative Cloud documents, which means versions are created automatically with each auto‑save, even if they weren’t explicitly marked. If the file was overwritten (but not deleted), you can restore an earlier version via File → Show version history. Please note that unmarked versions are kept for up to 60 days.
      If the file was deleted, you can check for recovery here:
