Assets on Google Drive failing to load.

Google drive has started filling in image thumbnails with solid colors. Even if I try to import a thumbnail I  can still see, I get an asset error message "WHOA - that asset failed try using a different image." even though it looks as though it is getting placed in my video correctly. Can anyone direct me to the vendor with the issue here? I have only had these issues the last month or so. SO frustrating, not to mention a waste of time.
