Question

Background Poor Resolution

I ordered business cards for a customer and they turned out really crappy. The printer said that the background image I chose was poor resolution.  Why are the images in this program subpar? I thought this was a program we could use to create pieces for customers so I am not sure about subscribing after the trial period.

Hi @PBS_Jill

Did you provide the printer with the PDF you shared here? This was a 2.2MB image, so it should be sufficient. If you zoom in on the PDF, you can see there are no quality issues. It sounds like the quality issues might have been introduced when converting the file.

I would ask the printer for the needed DPI, recommended image dimensions, and image format and create your design targeting that output. You might have to talk more with the printer to understand their workflow to better understand where the issue is occurring.

Best,
Dave

Maybe.  It seems that the printer did something wrong in the transfer to the press and I’m not sure I downloaded the best PDF option.  They redid them so now I am waiting to see the results.  Thank you for the follow up.
