Can you edit AND add captions before exporting a video in Adobe Express?

I'm new to using Adobe Express. I've been playing around with the video editor and like it so far.

One thing I'd like to do is add my captions to the video before I export it. I'm not seeing an option to do that from the editor. Does this mean I have to export my video and then plug it back into Caption video under Video Quick Actions? It's a bit more time-consuming to download the video first then caption it and have to export another file.

Am I missing an option to caption my video from the editor screen?

Hi @venntech .

Currently, in Adobe Express, the built-in video editor does not offer an option to directly add captions or subtitles while editing the video. This feature is missing but you can add it as a feature request here: https://adobe.ly/3BPpr31.

However, there is a workaround:

  • Edit your video in the Adobe Express video editor (add images, transitions, etc.).
  • Export your video after finishing your edits.
  • Use "Video Quick Actions": Once your video is exported, go to Adobe Express's "Video Quick Actions" tool and select the "Add Captions" feature. This allows you to upload your video again and add captions.

Let me know if you'd like help with any other aspect of Adobe Express! Thanks ^CA

I came here because I was finding the same issue. I really want to delete CapCut but as far as I can see this is one thing that is less user friendly in Adobe. Has anyone noticed that the timing of the captions in Adobe isnt quite perfect either? And it is rather annoing that after you have captioned the video and imported it to be edited you can no longer edit the captions.

Has anyone heard if this is going to be added as a feature any time soon? It is really the only thing missing vs edits and capcut
