Question

Clip maker is stuck

I tried uploading a file to Clip Maker but it is stuck. I received a notification that my clips are ready to review; but when I go into Clip Maker, it is stuck on the screen that says, “Clipping… You may now close the Clip maker, and we’ll notify you in-app when your clips are ready to review.

It has been stuck for two days. Clip Maker says 1. Upload > 2. Clipping (3 Review if greyed out.)

I do not see any clips in My Projects.

I am on a Mac using Chrome browser.

I tried on both Chrome and Safari (incognito/private browser).

I opened Clip maker and got a fresh screen (no longer stuck processing) so I uploaded my file.

The file now appears in my stuff. I do not see any clips generated as in the demo, however.

I am on a Mac using Chrome browser.

I tried on both Chrome and Safari (incognito/private browser) and getting the same thing. BTW, I am on the web… go to Adobe Express, click the Clip maker, and get the message “Clipping… You may now close the Clip maker, and we’ll notify you in-app when your clips are ready to review.

You can reopen the Clip maker at any time by pressing the Clip maker quick action, or by opening the file we’ll create for you in Your stuff.”

Since Clip maker appears to be stuck generating the clips, a project has not been created yet. I see nothing to share. The file that I uploaded was relatively large. ~900 MB.

I get the same stuck message all the time… 3 days later from me uploading the file. I have tried leaving the browser open but to no avail.

Hey @Sunny_kid2d0a - there was an outage today that may have started yesterday - would you mind seeing if you’re still impacted? If you are, perhaps we can try generating a HAR file while the error is ongoing instead (since you’re right, you can’t share a project link).

    Here's a guide on generating one: https://helpx.adobe.com/enterprise/kb/generate-har-file.html

Hoping that it resolved with the outage, but please keep me posted!

    I’m still having tis issue

    • Issue summary: Clip Maker is stuck at 80% unless the output is reels
    • Product & version: Adobe Express web
    • Platform: Google Chrome Version 151.0.7922.108 (Official Build) (x86_64)
    • Steps to reproduce: Choose clip maker, drag and drop a video, change the output form reels to customer format, click create.
    • Expected result: I’d expect a number of clips to be created
    • Actual result: it’s stuck on 80% and ‘finalizing video’ and the only way I can stop this is if I come out of clip maker, go back in, and very quickly choose ‘cancel’ as it’s only on the screen for a short time.

Hey @petersumpton  = there was a platform outage today (looks like it may have started yesterday) that was causing Clip Maker to hang exactly like this, and it was resolved earlier today. Would you mind trying a fresh run and letting me know if it's still sticking?

If it is, since Clip Maker never finishes there's no completed project to share — so the most useful thing would be a HAR file captured while it's stuck at 80%: https://helpx.adobe.com/enterprise/kb/generate-har-file.html

Hi @Sunny_kid2d0a, sorry you've been stuck on this for two days, that's a long wait with nothing to show for it.

A few things that would help us dig in:

    • Which browser and device are you using?

    • Have you tried in a different browser or incognito mode?

    • Roughly how large is the file you uploaded, and how long is it?

    • Have you tried refreshing the page or reopening Clip Maker to see if it picks back up, or does it just show the same stuck message every time?

Since it's been stuck this long with no clips appearing, this may need a closer look at what's happening on the backend. If you're able to share the project, that would help:
→ Duplicate the project first, so your original stays untouched
→ Click Share in the top right
→ Under General access, change it from Restricted to Anyone with the link
→ Set the permission to Can edit
→ Send the link via DM
