Content Scheduler — Facebook posts publish without OG link preview (no hero image, no headline) — April 2026

When scheduling a post to a connected Facebook Page using Adobe Express Content Scheduler and pasting an article URL into the Caption field, the Preview view renders the post as a plain-text URL with no Open Graph preview card attached — no hero image, no headline, no description. This is the rendering Facebook uses for text-only posts containing URLs, not link posts. So any article scheduled this way publishes to a Facebook Page without the expected link preview card.

This is the core feature every other major social scheduler provides (Sendible, Buffer, Hootsuite, Publer, Metricool) and is the default behavior when a URL is pasted directly into Facebook's native composer. Adobe Express Content Scheduler appears to be unique in not honoring this web standard.

We tried all of that.  Pasted the exact same link in Sendible and directly on Facebook and the preview image worked perfectly.  Pasted with Adobe and nothing.  We have published community news stories for decades this way, very familiar with the process.

Are you indicating that Adobe is supposed to pick up WordPress featured images?

Hi @Forrest_Church - thanks again, that context is really helpful.

Would you be able to share an example link you’ve tested (one that works in Facebook/Sendible but not via Express)? That would make it much easier for me to reproduce this on our side and get a more concrete answer from the team.

Appreciate you working through this with me! I agree this should be behaving consistently, and would like to discover if this is a bug or just a limitation of our scheduler!

    Hi there @Forrest_Church,

Thanks for taking the time to document this so clearly. I can see why this would be frustrating, especially given how consistently link previews behave in other schedulers and within Facebook itself.

I’ve shared this with our product team and am currently confirming whether this is expected behavior or something that isn’t working as intended. I’ll follow up here as soon as I have a definitive answer. If it's somethign Express doesn't natively have, I'll have you fill out a feature request on Uservoice, since that's something the product team uses as part of their roadmap plans.

In the meantime, really appreciate you calling out the comparison with other tools; that context is especially helpful.

    Hey @Forrest_Church,

Thanks again for your patience while I checked with the team on this.

Link previews are supported, but they depend on how the destination website is set up. If the page you’re linking to is missing or has incomplete metadata, Facebook may treat it as a plain text link - which results in the behavior you’re seeing.

A helpful next step is to run your URL through Facebook’s Sharing Debugger:
    https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/

This tool will show you exactly what metadata Facebook is able to pull from the page and highlight anything that might be missing or misconfigured.

I completely understand your point about expectations here, especially since other schedulers may appear to handle this more seamlessly, and I’ve shared that feedback with the team as well.
