Horrible Update - October 2025

Idea submission: Undo the most recent update.

  1.  The "Media", "Elements", and "Charts and Grids" are now under an "Add Content" button instead of just being on the side bar where they used to be. When I want to add an image to my flyer, WHY would I want to click add content > media every time I want to add media instead of being able to easily add media?? Why is there now another step everytime I want to add a design element? In what world would I, a user, want the user experience to take longer than it used to?
  2.  "File name" is no longer in the top bar where I can easily read what I named the file. I now have to click the down arrow to see/edit the file name. Again, why add another step? What used to be one step is now two, but in an extra inconvient way because it doesn't even show me what the current file name is unless I click it.
  3.  Continuing with the theme of adding another step where there didn't used to be one; to change the background of the paper, you have to click "edit page" > "background", instead of it just living in the top bar where I could toggle the background color in one easy step. Did y'all consult ANY user before making this update? Yes, hiding all the features behind things looks "cleaner" but it's less FUNCTIONAL.

The new update just adds an unnecessary step for the users and activily makes the user experience worse. It's ridiculous to complicate something that worked great. What's next? I have to go through 10 steps to access the "templates" tab? Let's hide the "Text" option behind the "Add Content" too while you're at it. Let's hide all the featrures! Why not? Why make things better for users when we can make it worse? Why would anyone want to do 1 step to edit a file when we could do 15?

Annoying.

I agree with everyone else on this discussion. I'm really frustrated with this new update. Every time I want to add something, it's not taking twice as long with all these extra steps that got implemented. It's significantly slowing down my workflow. Just keep everything 1 click away!!!! Why is it all nestled in this add content section??

Why did the page titles get moved to a separate menu that I sometimes can't even find? It was perfect being on top of each page. It took me forever to figure out the edit page menu; it isn't intuitive at all.

Who thought this new update was a good idea? It literally worsened the UX. For a software company that caters to designers, you'd think they'd try improving the UX instead of worsening it.

Dear Adobe team - Your products (stand-alone) are great. However, the overall management of platform is very frustrating. Multiple downloads, revisions to product versions--yes you can use this on desktop, no something is different download the online version and change subscription--and now, I've lost access to 1 of the 2 main apps I use Adobe for. Hours wasted on my end. Surely, your customer service agents / volume / is skyrocketing.

Why Adobe? Why? Please tell us your goal for making us did and google how to find a tool that was perfectly fine where it was?

Why have you yet again moved elements so its behind another click? Instead of keep changing the user experience (and making it worse) can you not look into improvements such as spell check in languages other than US? Actual rulers and grids to support design. The ability to have greater control over how we export our files i.e. resolution etc. Insetad of making the software harder to use - I don't want to have to keep searching for elements. I want them where they shgould be - easily accesible at a glance from the toolbar. You are just driving us to other products at this point...

Hi @Michelle Knig299759207p2a,

Thank you for your detailed feedback! We understand how frustrating it can be when elements are moved behind extra clicks, and we hear your concerns about accessibility, spell check, rulers, grids, and export controls. 😔

We’ve shared your input with our product team, as your suggestions are very valuable for improving Adobe Express and making the user experience more intuitive. We appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts, and encourage you to continue providing feedback so our team can keep track of real user needs.

File name: I still see the file name in the web/web app version of Express. Maybe that was either changed back or a bug that is resolved now?

I agree that is all horrible design changes that makes users frustrated. I have 100 pages in a file and I usually add pages by dublicating one of the pages. Name dissappeared from top of the page. You need to click Edit Page - > "You cannot click the text of the name to edit simply,.. No! you have to click Pen icon... You rename the page, and ENTER... NO!!!! You cannot change the name and press enter or click somewhere else on the page (like we all do since Windows 3.1 !!) NO!, you have to click OK button to save the name...Pathetic! You know why this is happening, compaies now hiring generation Z coders who does not ever used a creative product before and they come up with "design ideas" to consume people's time more, do searches etc.. The best (worst) example of that kind of design mindset showed itself in Windows 8 first edition ("They removed the Start Menu!!!)

Dear Adobe Team,

The most recent update of Adobe Express (and any others linked to online development) is limiting in production and quality.

1) The sticky layer/menu bar that is stuck in place on every art board... Well imagine being a painter with a sticky note on the canvas. It's constantly in the way and an obstruction to the art.

2) Hiding artboard titles within a drop down is not useful.

3) Removing filename edits from top menu bar is not a big deal but annoying.

4) ALL your online functions within Express (e.g., opening a file) and other applications are out the window requiring constant reloads per process - no matter the browser.

5) Many of your hover (mouse pointer over item) functions for selection are out the window.

You all have been wonderful but until these problems are fixed... the amount of effort required to produce a product is not worth the effort to use your product. The ROI is just not enough at the moment - please revert to prior version so we can get back to collaborating with your (prior) amazing product.

The new Express update has removed the titles from above each page within my files. This completely destroys my workflow as I rely on quick glances at page titles and having to navigate to the "edit page" menu is completely butchering my efficiency. If there a way to add the titles again? Please bring back this functionality, it is incredibly frustrating trying to work without it!

Hi @TeaganFar

Are you using Express on a mobile device or in a browser on a computer? Would it be possible to share a screenshot of what you mean abut the titles to better understand?

Thanks,

Dave

I'm having the same issue (Desktop/browser version, haven't checked the mobile app), here are some screenshots -

New UI - page number and page title missing - just has an intrusive "Edit page / Resize" button on top now:

Older UI - you can see the page title in the field with the page number label "Page 1":

Really makes the workflow cumbersome and frustrating not having this, doesn't even make sense to have removed it. Please bring it back!

I have a major issue with the new update. I can no longer add videos from my desktop without running it through a video converter. I had no problems previously before this update. Video converters are limited to 1g or less and it doesnt seem to matter my aspect ratio is exactly what they are looking for. I will have to shop for different software because this adds hours of extra work to get them into adobe express.

Hi @mike_8075,

We’re sorry you’re experiencing this issue 😔. We’ve shared your case with our engineering team and will keep you updated on any progress.

In the meantime, please ensure you are using the latest version of Adobe Express and try smaller video files or common formats like MP4 to see if they upload successfully. Your feedback and details are invaluable to our team as we investigate and improve the experience.
