How do I create a timeline from existing files and pages?

So, I created a file with like 20 pages. I want to convert this into one single video, by adding all the pages to a timeline and export as mp4. There seems to be no way I can add my pages to a timeline, though. All I'm presented with, is the possibility to blank scenes or local files to my timeline. Not pages from existing Adobe Express files… What am I missing?

Hi @Woodshed Productions, I tried copy pasting assets from a scene of one video file directly to the timeline of another video file and it worked fine. I just had to add a blank scene and paste all assets to it.

Let me know if it works for you and if that’s what you’re looking for. Hi @Amitej S, this would be a workaround if the pages I already made were images. The separate pages contain timelines themselves, with animated text. Exporting them as an MP4 file and then importing them into the video timeline would do the trick, of course, but it is very cumbersome.

I was hoping that there was a feature to copy and paste pages into a timeline. Just as it is possible to add pages from one file to another. And / or the option to convert a regular file to a timeline in one go. For now, I recreated the pages in the timeline.

Hi Amitej,

This is the workaround that I applied indeed. It works fine but it’s a hassle when you have to do this twenty times, as in my case 😄 I'm fine for now and will think ahead next time when I want to make a clip. No pages, just scenes.

Thank you for your help.

Hi @Woodshed Productions, Welcome to Adobe Express community!

Have you tried exporting each page of the 20-page document as individual PNGs and then importing all the downloaded images in a video project at once?

If you do so, it’d show up in a single timeline, as shown in the screenshot.

Let us know if there’s any issues doing so, we are here to help!

Best!
