Question

How to delete top section of webpage?

Hi all, I am trying to create a webpage using Express and cannot delete the top section (or apply my theme to it) when I use the "Create from scratch" option. If I create sections below that one, I can delete them with no problem. What is the deal here? I have spent way too much time on what should be a trivial task. Thank you for any help you can provide!

Hi @rex_5677,

Welcome, and thanks for reaching out — I totally get how frustrating this must be.

You're absolutely right — in Adobe Express, the top (hero) section of a webpage created "from scratch" can’t be deleted. It's part of the default layout structure.

That said, here’s what you can do:

  • You can fully customize the section: change or remove the image, title, subtitle, or button.

  • To make it more minimal, leave the text fields empty and set a plain background.

  • Unfortunately, themes don’t apply fully to the top section, but you can manually adjust colors and fonts to match the rest of your page.

I know it's not ideal, but with a few tweaks, you can make it feel seamless. Let me know if you need help editing it!
