Question

Hubspot integration - JPG file size is too big

I use Hubspot's "Create with Adobe Express" to "never leave Hubspot" while producing a visual to include in Hubspot pages or social.

However, the files Adobe Express returns to Hubspot have a huge file size.

Here is an example.

I created templates for the team and they can replace images with images from a defined Brand.
Images added to the brand are a maximum of 3000 pixels on the long edge, exported from Lightroom with a limited maximum file size of 1Mb. Of course, higher-detail images suffer some visual quality loss, but file size is the priority in this case.

The template I use has a canvas size of 1920x1080. So, I am uploading/placing an image that is 3000x2000 and up to 1MB in size.

When I choose Save and am taken back into HubSpot to save it there, the filesize is 2.2 MB. This makes the Hubspot integration unusable for me. If I choose to download the image to my disk and use whatever tool to reduce it to under 1MB, I lose the point of HubSpot integration and add unnecessary steps to the whole process.

Would you be able to build either a slider or a numerical input field in kilobytes so that user can control the maximum file size, just as one can do it in Lightroom?

Please note that file is considerably smaller in size when downloaded to a computer.

Please let me know if you need more details on this.
Thanks!

    Hi @Amer_Kapetanovic0293,

A couple of things would be useful to clarify:

    1. Which file format is being returned to HubSpot — JPEG or PNG?

    2. When you download the same design directly from Adobe Express to your computer, is the file size also around 2.2 MB, or is it significantly smaller than the version returned through HubSpot?

    3. Does this happen consistently across different templates, or only with specific designs?

The comparison between the downloaded file and the file returned through the integration is particularly interesting. It could help establish whether the difference comes from the export settings or the integration workflow itself.

    Hi there @Amer_Kapetanovic0293!

    Thanks for the detailed report!

I’ve shared this with the team for review, including your request for a JPG quality control or maximum file-size setting. I can’t promise a change, but I agree that needing to download, compress, and re-upload the asset adds friction to what should be an integrated workflow.

If you can, please let us know the file size of the locally downloaded version of that same design. That will give us a useful comparison point.
