Question

I cannot get Express to operate with dessktop Acrobat - I have 2020 and know it's not supported, do I need to delete and download something new?

Adobe Express updated on my laptop - I need it to work on desktop - I have Adobe Acrobat 2020 on desktop which I know is no longer supported. To get Express to work on desktop, do I have to uninstall Acrobat 2020 and download new program? If so, which update will get me Express. Thank you

After I uploaded my document, there is no “Translate” on the left-hand side - I have to type “Translate” in the search bar before something shows up. I then have to click on the first icon before anything happens - that being said, it does translate the document.

Hi @D29105190jfso - as mentioned, your version of Acrobat may not have the translate feature, however this forum covers Express - so you may want to ask the question here: https://community.adobe.com/p/acrobat

If you’re having trouble with Express specifically, let me know - my last response does cover how you can upload a PDF for translation in Express, which may help you anyways!

    Hi @D29105190jfso!

Welcome to our Express community! I would absolutely recommend downloading the latest version of Acrobat if you’re looking to have Express and Acrobat together. That being said...

I think I’m a little confused as to your initial query - Adobe Express is a web-based product, so you’d usually just load up express.adobe.com to start working. Are you using the progressive web-app version on your desktop (more info here)?

Acrobat does have some Express features integrated, but they are two separate applications. Are you having issues with the Express features within Acrobat? Updating to the newest version of Acrobat should solve this.

Please let me know what other questions you have, as I want to make sure we have you up and running in Express ASAP!

I am not doing anything special, I’m a struggling user - I have moved to Costa Rica and need the translate tool on my desktop version of Adobe. Some how my laptop has the “translate” tool, which appears to be part of Acrobat/Express however, I do not have on desktop w/Adobe 2020. Do I need to uninstall my Adobe 2020 and get a newer version of Adobe? Thanks

@D29105190jfso Thank you for clarifying - if you were to uninstall your version of Adobe Acrobat, you may need to get a new subscription to Acrobat at this point, since it sounds like your version might be a perpetual product versus a subscription license, which we no longer offer.

That being said, would you mind sharing a screenshot or two, or a screen recording of what you’re seeing?

As a workaround, you can also use Adobe Express online to translate your PDFs:

    1. Upload your document to Express, and then in the “Edit Page” panel,
    2. Choose “Translate” on the left-hand side, and then which language you’d like to translate to.

Let me know if this works for you!
