I need help! I am trying to republish my page and an error message keeps popping up. "We are unable to license some content. please delete or replace the asset and try again." It does not show me what to replace. HELP!

I need help with republishing my webpage. I am a premium member. It worked just fine previously.

@edinburghorchardnursery Thanks for posting, and sorry you’re having the same issue!  I got some more guidance from the team on how we might be able to find it on our own - since some Stock assets get removed (e.g. contributor blocked or asset deleted), and when that happens Express can no longer license them.

    1. Try “Source info” (if available)
    • Right‑click an image/design asset and choose Source info.
    • If it shows an Asset ID, that’s likely a Stock asset. If you see an asset that no longer opens on stock.adobe.com, it’s probably been removed and must be replaced.

    2. Trial‑and‑error replacement
    • Focus on any Stock‑looking photos/backgrounds/icons in the page.
    • Replace or delete them one at a time, republishing after each change.
    • When the licensing error disappears, the last item removed/replaced was the culprit.

You mentioned you’ve already tried workaround #2, so mind trying the steps in #1? If it’s a large project with too many assets, then go ahead and DM me the URL with edit access, and I’ll have the team take a look. (Make sure to make a copy just in case).

Can someone with this same problem help me fix it? I have worked hours on this assignment and I cannot figure out what assets need to be replaced!

Hi @absterleigh, welcome to our Adobe Express community!

Typically, this indicates that the licensing for some assets used in the file has changed, and those assets now need to be removed or updated. This is determined solely by the asset owners.

Please check for any blank asset placeholders or assets marked with an exclamation sign, and replace them accordingly. I’d recommend creating a duplicate of the webpage and then updating the assets in that copy.

We’re also working on improving how these assets are flagged, so they’re easier to identify before publishing or exporting—helping you avoid this issue in the future.

Let us know how it goes!

    Best!

How do I check the licensing? There are no exclamation points on anything.
