Images Uploading Wrong Direction

I am new-ish to using Adobe Express. I have some branded templates for social media to use, but everytime I try to replace the stock image with one of my own, they upload the wrong direction. They are just iphone images and are the correct direction on my phone and on my computer. The stock image is in portrait mode and my image is in portrait mode, so I an baffled. It doesn't work to manually rotate them with rotation handle as the images are cut off when uploaded in the wrong mode. I've tried everything I can think of and still no luck.
