Images with background removal export flat when saving as a PDF

When I export and images that have the background removed as a PDF, it defaults back to the original image with the background. This doesn't happen if I download the file as a PNG. However, I need to be able to download my carousel images as a PDF to upload as a document on LinkedIn. So for every image that gets messed up i have to replace each individual page on Acrobat afterwards.
