Imported video not able to be processed

Hi all, I am trying to import some videos to play around with editing in Adobe Express, and each time I upload one, it says it is unable to process it and to try again later. The videos are 4K MP4. If I just link them together, I can download something that looks just fine, but actually playing it in real time does not work, as it is incredibly choppy and blurry. So it makes editing untenable to trim/clip the edges of the clips, as I can’t see how that affects it. What could cause Express not to be able to process the video?

    Hi @Playful_Hero84d7,

That combination - "unable to process, try again later" on import, plus choppy, blurry playback when you do get it in - usually points at the 4K resolution being the sticking point rather than anything wrong with the files themselves. 4K is a heavy lift for a browser-based editor to decode and preview in real time, so the editor struggles even though the final download can still render out fine.

Quickest thing to try first: run one of the clips through Express's Convert to MP4 quick action (or the Trim quick action) and re-upload the result... that re-encodes it into something the editor handles more easily.

If that doesn't smooth it out, the more reliable fix is to bring the footage in at 1080p instead of 4K - you edit against a smooth preview, and for most Express output sizes (social, web, presentations) you won't see a quality difference in the final export.

One thing that'll help me point you better: is it failing on every single clip, or only some? And roughly how large / how long are they?
