Inter font displaying error message in Adobe Express

Hi having issues with the Inter font.

On an Adobe Express Enterprise Account, MacBook Pro, Sequoia 15.2, accesssed on Chrome (but same issue when in Safari).

I added it from Adobe Fonts: https://fonts.adobe.com/fonts/inter-variable into the brand font library. When I try to use it in a design I get this error message:

UUID: 94e37516-e937-4245-86d7-29ef9438ac09

I have tested other fonts, including from google and do not have the same issue.

Unable to upload inter into the brand library as it says it is already there.

Hi @Pilot project, Welcome to our community!

The inter font is a variable font, and as of now, variable fonts are not supported in Adobe Express. Feel free to drop a feature request for the same here: https://adobe.ly/3GtlRyi

Let us know if you're facing issues with the regular font family in Adobe Express.

Best,

Amitej

Dear @Amitej S,

Thanks for your prompt reply 🙂 !

I have one more question, if it is not supported in Adobe Express, does it mean that even with a Premium License it would not work? I just want to make sure.

Hi @Pilot project,

Thanks for your follow-up question. I'd like to inform you that, at this time, Adobe Express does not support variable fonts, including Inter, regardless of whether you are on a free or premium plan.

Regards,

Tarun

Dear @chaimaa.7

The Inter Font is still not working with Adobe Express. Are there any news on this topic?

Thanks for the response! Unfortunately the clearing the cache and creatng a new project did not work. I'm guessing it's varibale font compatability - do you know if there's a timeline for when this will be reslved?

Hi @franky_k.Thank you for your feedback! I’m sorry to hear that clearing the cache and starting a new project didn’t resolve the issue. It does sound like it could be related to variable font compatibility. I’ll reach out to the team to check if there’s a timeline for resolving this and will keep you posted with any updates.

Thank you for your patience! ^CA

Hi @franky_k. The issue you're facing with the Inter font in Adobe Express could stem from the specific handling of variable fonts. Here's how you can troubleshoot and resolve it:

Verify Font Compatibility:

  • Adobe Express currently has limited support for variable fonts. Even though the Inter font is available in Adobe Fonts, it is a variable font, which might cause compatibility issues in Adobe Express.

Clear Cache and Refresh:

  • Clear your browser’s cache and cookies to ensure there are no residual issues.
  • Restart the browser and test again in both Chrome and Safari.

Test in a New Project:

  • Sometimes, issues are tied to a specific project. Try creating a new design and apply the Inter font to see if it works properly.

here's a workaround to address the issue with the Inter font in Adobe Express while Adobe resolves the compatibility with variable fonts, use a font similar to Inter, like Roboto or Montserrat, both of which are supported by Adobe Express and visually align with Inter.

Thanks,

Chaimaa
