Issues with identifying licensed content throwing errors in Express

I spent more than a week creating a liquid syllabus in Express, and now I cannot create a link to share it with my students because Adobe says it isn't able to “license some content.” How do I determine which content is causing the problem?

My syllabus is full of images, so I am going to have to recreate it (at the very last minute) in Canva. I am frustrated beyond measure.

I have the premium account.

    Hi @Radiant_dare9182,

Sorry this landed on you at the worst possible moment - a week of work and a deadline is exactly when you don't want a licensing error blocking your share link. Apologies for the delay in getting to you; I hope you found a way through in the meantime, but I want to make sure you've got an answer either way.

That "can't license some content" error means one (or more) of the assets in your project can't be licensed for sharing — usually a stock or premium element. The tricky part, which I won't pretend isn't frustrating, is that Express hasn't always made it obvious which asset is the culprit.

The thing to look for: the flagged asset should show a small red icon with an exclamation mark on it, pointing you to the specific element causing the error. If you can spot that, replacing or removing that one asset should clear the block and let you generate your share link.

→ Go through your pages and look for any element with a red exclamation-mark indicator
→ Replace or delete that asset, then try creating the share link again

If you can't find any flagged icon, or you find it and it still won't let you share after swapping the asset, reply back and let me know - I'll help dig into it further.

Also, if this isn’t just an Express project and is instead a webpage, feel free to DM me the link! The errors are a little harder to spot on webpages (something that the team IS working on).

I did exactly what you suggested. I looked for flagged assets and red exclamation marks. I replaced every single graphic. After none of that worked, I remade the syllabus in Canva and distributed it to my students.

@Radiant_dare9182 Thanks for coming back to let me know! It sounds like it was indeed a webpage? If so, that’s a UX issue I’m passing feedback onto the relevant team who is working to resolve that permanently going forward.

Truly appreciate you returning, and for the feedback about going to Canva after.
