I can't layer my pictures, I want the old Adobe back!

Sorry to hear about your difficulties. You should be able to still work with layers like before but might need to adapt to the new interface. If you go to the Media, Text, or Elements sections clicking on the content within should add these as layers within a project. Please let me know if this helps or if you're doing something different.
