Letter Spacing Bug

So this bug happens once every couple edits to the selected text. Sometimes whenever I resize the text box after editing the text, the letter spacing becomes weird (1st photo) and the highlights disappear. It is easily fixed by going to the letter spacing setting and setting the value to something other than 0 and then putting it back to 0. Once I do that, it returns to normal (2nd photo). It is quite annoying however and it's a re-occuring bug that doesn't seem to go away. Any help?

    I figured out the reason why it does that: if I try to resize the text box while I have the text box on the top right selected, it'll do that. All I have to do is de-select the text box on the top right before re-sizing it.
