Question

Part of background not downloading in PDF, but does in PNG

New to Adobe Express, but longtime user of Photoshop and InDesign.

Mac OS 15.6.1. Chrome 151.0.7922.77.

I created two 24” x 36” posters using the same Adobe Express template. I changed pretty much everything in the design but the background. This is an amazing product – smart and fast.

But.

When I download the PDFs, some of the background is missing.

When I test by downloading as PNGs, the background is correct.

I need the PDF format to make these big prints.

Can someone help? Thanks.

(I can’t post images here for privacy reasons.)

Because of Covid, this project is on indefinite hold, so I won’t be pursuing the fix anytime soon.

    Hi @Sylvia_W,

Welcome to Adobe Express, and thanks for sharing the details. We're glad to hear you're enjoying the product overall!

Since the background appears correctly when downloaded as a PNG but is partially missing in the PDF export, it suggests there may be an issue with how certain background elements are rendered during PDF generation.

A few things that may help us investigate:

    • Does the issue occur with both posters or only one of them?
    • Is the background an image, graphic, or part of the original template design?
    • If you duplicate the project and replace the background with a different image/color, does the PDF export correctly?
    • Does the issue persist when exporting the PDF from a different browser or in an Incognito/Private window?

    Regards,

    Tarun
