First of all, my apologies for this very late answer!

Depending on your setup, you will have to play a bit with your machine parameters to find your optimal range. One general tip that can work for a lot of people is to prefer the portrait format (as opposed to the landscape format) when taking pictures for use on Instagram, and also to prefer the format 9:16. Make sure you leave plenty of 'white space' around your subject as this generally gets cropped out to suit the Instagram format.
