Remove Background not working

As of this week my Background remover stopped working and keeps indicate an error message “failed to load asset try to reload again”. I reached out to Customer Support on three occasions and they were less than worthless due to the “did you clear cache”  over and over again attempt. Is anyone else experiencing this issue? How can this be fixed? I am not paying Adobe just to be friends, I am at a work stoppage due to this error. Please can we get a fix?

    Hi @eisportsphotography,

I hear you - I'm sorry that's how the support runs went. Let's skip the stuff you've already been told and try to narrow this down further.

A few things that'll help, none of which are cache/cookies:

    • Are you on Express in a web browser or the desktop/mobile app? If web, which browser?

    • If you're on a managed/work network (office, studio, VPN, or a firewall/security tool like Zscaler), does it also fail on a completely different network - e.g. a phone hotspot? Some setups block a service that background removal needs, and that's fixable but on the network side.(If it is this - here's a list of network endpoints that need to be accessible - there is an Express-specific section)

    • Does it fail on every image, or only some?

    • When did it start exactly - you said this week; any idea what day?

I ask about the network because "failed to load asset" can sometimes mean a required service isn't reachable rather than anything wrong with your image or account. If a different network makes it work, that tells us a lot.
