Question

Resize canvas to match an image in the canvas

This seems like it should be a super simple feature, yet it is completely not visible from what I can tell:

I have an image inside a larger canvas, I have resized the image the way I want, and now, I simply want to have the canvas match with this image. There appears to be no straightforward way to do this.

- I can resize the canvas, but have to type in the dimensions, this seems clunky at best

Am I missing something obvious?

Hey @TylerFahey

This is a good Qs. When you open up Express you can choose Start from your content. Immediately after that you press: Edit Original Image.

Cheers

Thanks for the follow up. I think this is one possible way I could have done it from the start.

but, in this case, I was working with a web page and I had to copy the image to my clipboard, and then paste it. So I don't think there's any way to "start from my clipboard". It's just surprising that they wouldn't include this even in the "express" version of the software, I would think I should easily be able to resize my canvas, it could be a simple right click menu option to "fit canvas to image ", also starting from paste is another feature, in my opinion, they should be able to ship as $1 billion company, even to an express product intended for more simple use cases, I would argue my use case described is very simple. It's 2025 – I shouldn't have to save the file to my computer to then start from that source, especially given the fact that I was able to paste the image directly into the canvas to get started on this work. I know I'm nitpicking, but I'm just looking for the speed that the "express" label would imply as the user

Hi @TylerFahey

You are absolutely right, and the ability to resize a page freely (without affecting layout), including trimming it to existing content, is coming soon. Thanks for your patience.
