Question

Sorry, we were unable to remove background from this image. Please try re-uploading your asset.

I use adobe express mobile app to make custom sports cards and many of them need the remove background feature. I cannot get it to work anymore and get the same error over and over. I have tried other networks, deleting and reinstalling the app and many different photos. During this time of year I use this almost daily so need something soon or will have to find another app

I had to crop my images down, have a 60MP camera and it would fail on those large pics. A few I couldn’t use because they were already positioned where I wanted them, couldn’t crop down.

Thanks for the update, @wzp312. That’s really helpful. It sounds like reducing the image dimensions is allowing Remove Background to complete, while the original 60MP files are failing.

I’m glad cropping gave you a workaround, but I realize that isn’t ideal when you need to preserve the original framing. I’m going to flag the large-image behavior for further review. For now, resizing a copy of the photo before bringing it into Adobe Express is the best workaround if cropping would affect your composition.

Thanks also for sharing your details.

    Hi @wzp312,

Sorry you're running into this - and I understand how frustrating it is when a tool you rely on daily stops working. Given that you've already tried different networks, photos, and reinstalling, this is worth us looking into further.

Could you share your device model, OS version, and Adobe Express app version? That'll help us dig into whether this is a broader issue or something specific to your setup.

In the meantime, @N8.'s suggestion to use Adobe Firefly's Remove Background is a solid workaround while we investigate - it's the same underlying technology and should get you unblocked for now.
