Question

Text formatting in locked templates

Hi

Is there anyway to allow the user to bold/italicise the font or make it slightly smaller and even add a hyperlink etc in an editable template where the text it locked but still editable for the user?

At the moment this is a massive issue as it means leaving text blocks completely unlocked to allow for some formatting - this misses the point as then it allows users to add huge amounts of copy that the template isn't intended for.

We need some flexibility when the text box is locked but editable to allow for minor formatting without having to leave it completely open.

Any suggestions/solutions?

@RachelMata as a workaround until this becomes a feature, in the text that you lock you can have something in bold, something in italic or any other text formatting opion that you like. The user modyfing the template can then copy the formatted text and update it accordingly. So the placeholder text would look like "Lorem ipsum dolor  sin amet" and that will be locked. The user can replace the text they want and keep the formatting.

Hi @RachelMata, thank you for raising this! A similar feature request has already been suggested on our UserVoice platform: https://adobe.ly/4lXOeDM. Feel free to upvote it.

If it doesn’t fully reflect your use case, you’re welcome to submit a new idea directly.
