Question

The free Adobe Express has no way to block premium features and it is impossible for me to use it for free.

I have changed fits and not used resize, and I still cannot use Adobe Express for free. My work is trapped and I cannot download it without upgrading for a fee. I work for an anarchist grassroots org and we can’t afford to pay. How do I block premium features?

    Hi @Pax Mundi,

Sorry to hear your work is stuck - this is a frustrating situation and I want to help you get your file out.

When a project uses premium elements, Express requires an upgrade to download it as-is. But here are a few things you can try to get your work without paying:

    1. Replace or remove premium elements - premium assets are usually marked with a crown icon. If you can identify and swap them out for free alternatives (or delete them), the download restriction should lift.

    2. Check fonts - premium fonts can also trigger the upgrade prompt. Try switching any flagged fonts to a free one.

    3. Check for resize - if the canvas was resized at all during your work using the premium resize tool, try creating a new project at your desired dimensions and rebuilding from there.

If you're not sure which elements are causing it, could you share a screenshot of your project? That might help us pinpoint what's blocking the download.

Also worth knowing - Adobe Express does offer free access for eligible nonprofits! It may be worth checking if your org qualifies at https://adobe.ly/4uSm1Dk
