Question

Uploading a Illustrator file into Adobe Express and making it a sharable template

I am looking into digital editable templates that a customer can access, make changes to and download. Once the design has been created in Illustrator can I then take that file into Adobe Express and make it a template that the customer can then edit via a link that I send them? A bit like you can in Templett or Canva.

Thank you.

Hello @janep94807918, as far as I see, after opening Adobe Express, at the main page, you can select "Start from your content", and then point your Illustrator file, then Adobe Express gives you 2 options, and you can select the second one: "Edit AI in a new file", looks like you can perfectly pick that option and make it an editable template. Hope this helps!

Hi Akin, Thank you for your reply to my question.

I tried to import the AI file in the way you described above but I keep getting this error every time I try this...

The file you’re trying to import is corrupted, empty, or not a PDF. Please check the file and try again.

Hi @janep94807918, I'd try opening the file in Illustrator (since it looks like a file specific problem), then copy the contents and paste into a new file, then try to import that new file in Express. Hope this helps/gives you some ideas to explore, let me know if this helps, if it doesn't maybe some other expert can make some suggestions. Happy designing!
