Using a template and where that file saves to automatically

I have flagged this as an issue before but as the one who builds all the templates, when I test using it as a template. This version automatically saves itself into the shared template folder with everyone else to see my “untitled test files”. How do I change this location to save in My Stuff only?

    Hi ​@RachelMata , We had rolled out an experiment last week to enable users to select the file location during remix. As the rollout was done to 50%, half of the users would have seen this experience. Currently, the experiment is paused but will be enabled again next week.

    Thanks for confirming about the first issue. For the second issue, could you please walk us through the steps you follow when starting a new project using the template you created?

     

    Was this template originally created inside a Project, or was it created in My Stuff and later shared? Has this behavior always existed, or did it start after a recent update? Does it happen on both web and mobile, or only on web?

     

    Also, could you share a short screen recording showing what happens from clicking “Use template” to where the file ends up?

    Also, when exactly do you see the “Save file to” pop up on your screen?

    The screenshot I attached is from one of the team that I create the editable templates for. Its popping up for them regardless of which template they want to use, with another member reporting the same thing happening. Previously, when they wanted to use a template, it would automatically save in their stuff.

    When I export my templates I am sending them to the correct folders that have set up in my Projects - destination of where i save them, is always different but they go to that greyed out project you see on the screenshot, this is my master projects template folder.

    In my case when I test one of my templates and ‘use it ‘rather than ‘edit it’, that copy of the template auto saves itself into this shared templates folder and all my team can see it, which is very annoying as I have to delete them manually to stop them showing up - these too should be auto-saving in my stuff, not where my team can see them (I have added that as a seperate help question)

    I have had a couple of my team ask if Adobe Express has made an update. Whenever someone is now using a template, instead of this saving to “My Stuff” automatically they are being asked to choose a project? some are and some aren’t getting this window so is it a glitch or a new feature I need to advise the team about

      Hi, I think this answer is getting confused as theres two seperate issues here that I raised separately but seemed to have combined to one. First issue around testing and selecting where templates are saved is resolved as a test to select locations.
       

      The second issue I am having is different and has been happening for months. When I use a template (that I created) this test file is automatically saving itself in the projects folder for all my team to see instead of saving it to my stuff, I have no option to select its pathway and change it to stop this happening. Every time i ‘use a template” it happens and I have to manually delete it.
