Watermark Transparency Issues

My PNG files continue to show on a white background for any watermark I’ve ever used. I’ve double-checked them in Photoshop and elsewhere and there’s nothing wrong with them. I have a paid subscription for Photoshop Express on my iPhone, so this is very disappointing. Any help would be greatly appreciated. The screenshot is an example of what happens.
