Why does Adobe FORCE the AI prompt window for EVERY template???

I am not impressed whatsoever Adobe.  I thought it was cute when you offered the AI option at first.  That is if we wanted to waste so much time having your AI version try to create a design.  But now EVERY template I try to click on comes up with the very annoying “Describe what changes you want to apply to this template?”  I DO NOT want to waste time having the Adobe AI try to edit the template.  Just let me open the template and get to editing myself.  If I need help then I can ask AI if I need to.

This “FORCING AI” on us creators really is a slap in the face.  I just want to create and I do not need the intrusion of AI to try to “help me.”  Yes, Adobe’s AI (Nano Banana 3.0?) is pretty cool.  But it will never replace what a creator can do without the need to involve AI.

Please, for the sake of all things good, please have this be an option we can turn off.  I just want to find the coolest template that is close to what I want and let me edit it and leave me alone.

    Hey @Randune23,

Thanks for the feedback - this is worth clarifying since it depends on which version of Express you're using. (Which one is it?)

On desktop, the AI prompt shouldn't block you - you can bypass it entirely by using the blue "+" button on Home to open a blank canvas, or go through Templates, Quick Actions, or Your Stuff to jump straight into the editor withoute the AI flow. There's also an option up top to click the "AI Assistant Beta" off so you don't see it at all. Inside the editor, the AI Assistant panel is closeable and stays out of your way.

If you're on the mobile app, the AI prompt is more prominent by design right now - which I know isn't what you want to hear. That's an intentional product direction, but feedback like yours does matter, so thank you for posting about it here!

Either way, the ask to have a clearer "just let me edit" path is a reasonable one and worth upvoting here: https://adobeexpress.uservoice.com/forums/951181-adobe-express/suggestions/50029284-hide-ai-features

I don't want AI forced down my throat. Adobe products used to be a tool for my own creativity, not a shortcut to steal everyone else's and label it as my own. Please, let us have the OPTION to avoid any kind of generative AI in adobe products instead of pushing it to be the default.

Hi @these.lovely.things1893, thanks for adding your voice to the thread! I would make sure you upvote and add your comment to the Uservoice link as well, since our product team actively monitors that. I'm also passing it along internally.

First of all, Rose, thank you for the feedback. That has to be the fastest reply from Adobe I have ever received.

Yeah, thanks to Gemini for mentioning the clicking on the “+” button, starting with a blank slate and then search for the template I am looking for. I am using the desktop online version.

Usually I just type in the search what kind of template I am looking for, find the template, and get to editing it. This new AI prompt adds more steps and delays the creative process. I would rather get to editing quickly rather than wasting time with the AI prompt.

Yeah, it might take a few extra clicks but I can COMPLETELY avoid “having to” use the AI prompts.  Thanks again for your feedback.  It is greatly appreciated to be heard.
