Back in the days when Adobe held itself to a much, MUCH better standard, I'd have been ready to fight you to the death for saying such a thing. Now, though? Now, their products have become less accessible than ever. The moment that some heartless, soulless, out-of-touch marketing execs made the decision to adopt the universally-hated & unanimously-condemned monthly subscription-based model, that was when they started the downward spiral, in my opinion. Used to be you'd make one, single payment & receive a license key which gave you access to ALL available Adobe products. Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, DreamWeaver, the whole suite. It might've been a recurring yearly charge, which you could adjust to fit your needs & financial situation as-needed by selecting only the software that you wanted to use, thereby not having to pay for access to some program that you don't want & don't need.
Basically, Adobe used to care about the individual artists & designers that would use their products. Every facet of their software suite was designed with one goal in mind: to make the best, most intuitive, & most capable design software - by designers, for designers. Now they simply see us as faceless, almost in-human 'end-users', & no dirty sales tactic is off the table if it means they can squeeze more & more money out of whoever's able to pay.
I'm old, though. I remember a time when you couldn't find a single ad anywhere on YouTube no matter how hard you tried. Now, the only way to not be driven insane by the ads is to pay for YouTube premium. It's disgusting, despicable, & detestable, but these days, it's par for the course. How sad.
