Question

Assets subscription change and points removal, no warning

Hello,

I am an old user of substance that no longer needs the software or subscription for it, but was pretty happy having my accrued asset points over many years available to get assets as I needed.  Now with the new "no-metered" change I have lost all of that and must subscribe in order to get new assets ( or any assets even ones I "have" it seems).  I get the move toward this sort of thing, but it feels pretty short sighted to leave those who thought they had these points to rely on out of luck with no warning from what I can see ( i don't have any emails regarding this upcoming shift from what i can find searching in my inbox).  I would appreciate some kind of outreach to those like my self in this position, whether it is a free handful of months to the whole package, or some kind of assets only subscription?

Hello Cédric,

I am a longtime Substance user and, like many others, I am concerned about the recent change in the Assets subscription model that eliminates the points system. With my basic subscription, I had accumulated around 600 points, which was very useful—especially considering that I also use Creative Cloud and Adobe Stock.

I would like to know if, in the long run, this change will benefit users like me or if it will negatively impact my experience. I want to maintain my subscription, but I am uncertain about losing those points and the advantages they provided for my work.

I would greatly appreciate your guidance on the future of basic subscriptions and whether any compensatory measures will be offered to those of us who have relied on the points system.

Thank you very much for your attention.

Best regards,
Nicolas Quijada

Dear @Nikkoblast

With your active subscription, you had 600 points and now since it is unmetered, you can download more than 600 assets.
We did that to help our users for not being able to download assets during the trial period, to remove the difference between a Texturing and Collection subscription = download any types: models, materials, lights... and also to give the access to 3D Assets to the students with a Substance dedicated license.
You are not loosing your points, on the contrary.

This should be a benefit for all our users. Instead to have a limit per month, 30 or 50, now it is unmetered. You are not limited any more to this 30 or 50 points per month.

We remove the limit per month, we have not changed the terms of use, service, so it does not change anything except that you can download more.
The only thing where we need to fix an issue is the following: users with individual subscription with remaining points for which the subscription has been cancelled. We need to find a way to have these users to be able to download their remaining points.
