Hello,

I am currently using the Adobe Substance 3D student license and am interested in subscribing to Adobe Substance 3D assets for use in an academic research project at my university.

Having looked at Adobe's legal terms, it seems that there may be some circumstances where usage can be approved through certain fees or conditions. I am writing to inquire about the possibility of using these assets as a dataset for AI training.

Even if the usage is strictly for research purposes, I am eager to utilize these assets for my academic paper. I would greatly appreciate it if you could provide me with information on the terms and conditions that would allow this.

Thank you in advance for your time and assistance.

Hi @Waterrin

Thank you for your question. As an individual user, your use of Substance 3D Assets is governed by Adobe’s General Terms of Use and the Substance 3D Assets Additional Terms. These terms restrict usage of 3D Assets for AI/ML purposes (in particular, section 3.3 of the Additional Terms should provide you with guidance on your question). There are no exceptions to this restriction for academic/research use cases.
