Vehicle Assets Licensing

Whenever I come across models of cars in other 3D asset libraries, any of the vehicles that were modeled after existing vehicles can only be used for editorial use. Can Adobe grant full rights for the use of any 3D asset? Or does the company that originally designed the vehicle have a right to how their intellectual property is used and portrayed? In other words, what makes a car model good for any use, and what limits it to editorial use only?
