Question

Why won't my Substance Points transfer to Adobe account?

Hello, I've just tried to transfer my Substance points to my Adobe account using the process shown here:

https://substance3d.adobe.com/documentation/scdoc/points-and-assets-transfer

When I get to the final step it says:

An individual 3D Subsription is needed to allow download and points transfer. You will be able to transfer your download points later if you decide to start an Adobe 3D Subscription

I still have an existing Substance Indie subscription which expires next month, and I have an existing Adobe account  (photography plan). So why won't the points transfer?  What the page linked to above says does not suggest that I have to end my current Indie subscription first. So what do I do. Do I have to get an Adobe plan first? (so I am paying twice?)

This is all so confusing. I have a lot of points I do not want to lose.

Hi @hm89274728

Maybe we did not emphazise the "Adobe 3D subcription" enough in our wording during the transfer, there so much legal mandatory details to add for this workflow that it's easy to miss some keywords.

An ongoing Substance Indie subscription is not mandatory to transfer Points. You just must have 0 or 1 indie ongoing (no pro subscription nor several indie subscriptions).

But to transfer Points you do need an ongoing 3D Adobe subscription : Texturing or 3D collection subscription

I hope this is clearer this way and let me know if you have questions 🙂

Hello, thanks, I still need clarification on how to proceed then. In the information page it gives the following steps to transfer the license:

  1. Purchase an Adobe Substance 3D Collection or Texturing plan on adobe.com
  2. Download your invoice
  3. Log into your Substance account and “Cancel subscription” in the “Subscription” section.
  4. Download your latest invoice on the “Billing” section of your Substance account
  5. Send an email to contact@substance3d.com with both your Adobe invoice and your Allegorithmic invoice attached.
  6. The pro-rated amount of your annual subscription will be refunded to your original method of payment within 10 business days.

So should I thefore do step 1 and get the Adobe substance plan, and then after that transfer my points as shown in the link

https://substance3d.adobe.com/documentation/scdoc/points-and-assets-transfer

and then after that complete steps 2-6 ?

(I did post this reply earler but for some reason it didn't show up).

You can do the transfer of your remaining points from step 2, but you can also do it after!
You don't need an ongoing Substance subscription: you just need to have had one at some point in the past.

You can also link your Adobe and Substance accounts before purchasing and Adobe subscription if you don't want to do it now.
It will at first only transfer the list of licensed assets, but you will be able to sync your accounts again in the future when you have that Adobe 3D subscription and your points will show up on your Adobe account.
