Custom Fonts keep getting disabled/removed

Hi everyone,

I added multiple custom fonts via the CC desktop app. To be clear: I am not talking activating fonts from adobe fonts. I added font files via "Fonts > Add Fonts to Creative Cloud". Everything worked fine until some day I opened an AI-file that contained custom fonts and the usual message of missing fonts appeared:

I checked the CC app and the font was "installed" anyway:

I found that signing off the CC app and restarting it sometimes helps temporarily and the fonts are downloaded and installed again:

But after a few days (didn't examine precisely when) the same problem occurs again and the font is "gone". It is terribly inconvenient having to do the signin- off and -on and app-restarting procedure especially since it is not always working on first try and sometimes it takes forever loading the fonts again.

Does anyone know this problem?

Help is appreciated! Thank you!

Correct answer

Dang, you are totally right. I thought I had restarted my system yesterday morning and was happy because it worked, but turns out I had it only on sleep mode. Now that I actually restarted it today, fonts are gone. Great ...

Looking forward to this bugfix (if it comes at all) ...

If your Core Sync version is now 5.2.7.2 or higher, it should be fixed on Mac and Windows.

My company had trouble with fonts not loading or takeing up to 40 minutes to be available to see in InDesign or Illustrator. We use Extensis Suitcase to manage our fonts. The problem was with 2 services that are running in Windows10. (Windows Font Cache Service) and (Windows Presentation Foundation Font Cache 3.0.0.0).  One of these services was adding shortcuts of all the fonts into the Windows fonts folder. Once these services were disabled, Windows no longer makes shortcuts in the fonts folder.

This has been going on since the summer. See my post here: https://community.adobe.com/t5/adobe-fonts-discussions/syncing-of-fonts-i-ve-added-to-adobe-creative-cloud-has-recently-stopped-working/td-p/12363216

Adobe have commented that a fix is on the way and should be soon at this point.

Thank you.

I did a thorough wipe of any adobe related stuff yesterday (including using the adobe cleaner tool) and reinstalled everything. Until now my fonts seem to work fine. Fingers crossed ...

Have you restarted yet? That's when they would disappear again if the existing bug is still unfixed.

Update: It only took one day and one PC reboot to mess everything up again since last time I restored my fonts ...
