Hi!! Adobe fonts are taking too long time to be installed! I guess this is an old issue, I used to have this same problem when this service was called as "Type Kit". I can see the problem continues, unfortunelly. My internet connection is Ok.

A solution that I found that works for me was to turn off/on Adobe Fonts and restart InDesign. Found here: https://helpx.adobe.com/fonts/kb/troubleshoot-adding-fonts.html#:~:text=5.%20Toggle%20the%20Adobe%20Fonts%20setting

It’s 2026. Still not fixed. My customer just sent me a revised document that uses one additional weight of an Adobe font I already have loaded—in one spot, for two words—and I may as well go paint my house while I wait for it to become available in Photoshop.

Have I mentioned how much I love being reminded that I’m paying monthly ransom for software I used to purchase once every few years and this is how efficiently it works? [looks around the thread] This is obviously not a “me” problem. Workarounds are not fixes, Adobe. I shouldn’t have to toggle/restart/hop up & down on one foot while humming the 1812 Overture to make basic functionality happen.

It used to be quick. But 2025 adobe is getting shittier. Now it takes some voodoo magic to make it work

Just posting here, 4 years later, to say that I'm still experiencing this issue. I've clicked activate on the fonts and then they just hang. I also closed Adobe Illustrator and reopened the program, tried to activate again, and it just hangs. I've given it a solid 5-10 minutes. This is an unresolved bug on part of Adobe and it is soooooo annoying!

Why isn't this fixed?

So i understand it right that you take this issue with top priority in 2019? Thats now 6 years ago and the problem is still there???
This is crazy... i lost so many hours while waiting for Adobe Fonts to get loaded.

Hi Tarun, i uploaded the log files with the help of your link.
Today was the third or fourth time i started Creative Cloud Desktop and Adobe Fonts were deactivated.
And again I had to wait 15-20 min before everything was loaded again and i can start to work.
This is really crazy... time is money guys.

Hi @amyh52401280,

Thanks for your patience. Could you please provide the information Molly asked for, such as whether you are activating fonts in Creative Cloud Desktop or directly from Adobe F?

You can generate the log files with us via this link: https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/cc-log-collector.html. Once you have the logs, please share them with us via the cloud storage link so that we can download them and investigate further.

For me, it's through Creative Cloud Desktop, but neither works. Also, sometimes the font will say it's installed and active but not be resolvable in Premiere Pro - which requires resetting the cache or whatever the second tic-box option is when you hold down Alt while launching.

Here we are in 2024 and it is still slow. Adobe you say you are working on it, but its going on 3 years based on Molly Doane's response. I am using illustrator CC on a macbook pro. My internet connection is great, wish I could say the same about the rest.

Hi

@Raul235723090lst

,

We're sorry to hear about this. Could you please elaborate more on the issue you're seeing? Which Adobe app you're using? When exactly does it get slow? Do you receive any error messages?

We're here to help, just need some info.

Regards,

Tarun

I’ve always had adobe fonts open in my browser and it still gets hung up while fonts are loading in the background tasks.

I’ve found that if I quit InDesign and open it back up it clears the font loading activity and the file will open with no font issues.

I had this same issue. A solution I have found which usually works is to first ensure you are logged into Adobe Fonts in your browser, then open the document if on auto-activate, or manually activate the missing typefaces if not. As long as I'm logged in to fonts.adobe.com in the browser, the activation process in the application runs fine, taking a few seconds.
My theory - from Creative Cloud, when you browse more fonts, it opens fonts.adobe.com in the browser, but I often find I'm asked to login again each session - it doesn't stay logged in. I therefore suspect the issue is related to Adobe Fonts login status being somewhat independent of being logged into the main Creative Cloud app. The activation system in the application (ie inDesign) then hangs when trying to activate as a result of this.
