I'm new to Substance Designer - is it possible to build a texture that follows the contour of the surface it's applied to, such as the plywood edge on this chair?

Ahh, I see. What would be the preferred Adobe tool for straightening UV's - would I do that in Painter?

No, you would need to do this in a modeling program, like blender or Maya. There are currently no Substance tools for manually tweaking UVs.

Hello @Raymow,

Thanks for the question.

It is indeed possible to make a material following a path using Splines, but it is a lot more convenient to have straight UVs instead.

You wouldn't need a specific material made for this chair exclusively, but any material could do the job.

Thanks Cyril, I'll take a look at Splines now.
