Crash 'Failed to read version of URL'

Hi

My PC/Substance designer just crashed, and when I try and reload the substance I get 'Failed to read version of URL "file///C:....... {Rest of file location}

Any ideas on a fix or is the substance lost forever?

Thanks

Hello @chris233863036gsf,

By default, Designer autosaves projects as copies into an .autosave folder at the Substance 3D file's location. The folder contains the number of saved copies specified in the General section of the Preferences, saved at the set interval.

Do not load autosaved files in place. To restore an autosave, copy it out of the .autosave folder at the package location and remove its number suffix so it effectively replaces the original file.

Hopefully the autosave interval is such that the amount of work lost should be fairly low. Feel free to let me know the results.

Best regards.

To learn more about the autosave feature, you may take a look at this page in our documentation. Look for the Auto Backup item in the page.
