Creating this fabric pattern

Hey All, I'm hoping someone can help me with a material I'm working on. I'm trying to create this fabric with a stitched in pattern but not having a lot of luck. All my attempts end up with one pattern overlaying the other and I can't quite get the one stitch to look "stitched" into the other. Any help or advice would be really appreciated!! Sorry for the bad reference it's all I've been provided with currently.

Thanks

Hello @NW3D,

This is a quick attempt at reproducing the reference.

The main shape is created using the edges of a Polygon node's hexagon, which hard angles were blurred out.

In this example, the knitting is emulated by disrupting the threads with Warp nodes, and a Cells 1 node lets us creates clumps resulting from the knitting.

The background knitting is not very visible, so a simple Weave 2 sets it up quickly. This is then blended in using a Max blending mode so it stays beneath the main pattern.

This is a simple implementation. To go further with cloth production, I recommend checking out the specialist Pauline Boiteux's work and tutorials, as well as Qu Bin's tutorial on our website.

I hope this is helpful!

Best regards.
