Graphic Design pattern Help

Hello, I'm looking for help, 

I tried to do a pattern using tile sampler node and adding letters in order to blend them in the pattern.
But i'm stuck because neither the distance node and the edge detect are working properly with letters. 

Do you have idea on how to do this ? see the images linked below 🙂
