I was normally working with 8K files inside of SD and everything was fine I saved the project and when I opened it an hour later it just takes forever to load (and never loads) Is there a way to recover it somehow or see the logs to check what went wrong? Does SD save autosaves if yes where can I find them? The project was in 8K mode, is it possible to edit the file somehow so that it would open it in some lower resolution? Thanks!

Yes, there are autosave available and it's stored in a folder called .autosave next to your sbs. All you have to do to trigger it, is to save at least once your package and apparently you did it.
If you're on Linux, there is a chance this folder is hidden. You can show hidden files in Linux properties.
By default, Designer saves 6 files every 5 minutes but you can modify this behavior in Preferences (go into Edit in the top menu, then Preferences... you'll find the autosave options in General panel)
One more thing, if you pick one of the autosave, be sure to copy this autosave and put it somewhere else but in the autosave folder (or you'll get a new autosave folder into the autosave folder, it's not dangerous but it's not a clean way to work 😉 )
