Larch Wood Parquet Bond

Hello
We mainly use sampler to generate maps that will be used in Twinmotion.
We have selected a surface in the Substance resources whose name is "Larch Wood Parquet Bond"

We have noticed that for this specific surface there is a bug: the normal map (but also the Ao) does not correspond to the basecolor.

This bug seems to come from the "parquet bond" filter
We loaded the .sbs and opened it in Designer

But our skills on this software are very insufficient to understand exactly why the filter does not work correctly.

(On the other hand, we have isolated the "larch" part of the .sbs and generated a .sbsar which does not present the problem of this match between the basecolor map and other maps (normal, AO, etc.)

Can you tell me the best way to find help to understand the problem in the "parquet bond" filter?

The error comes from the function driving this pixel processor node:

 

 

This float should be 100 to make it the same as the similar function driving the pixel processor node on the normal map. Rebuilding the graph with an edited parquet bond filter containing that alteration works correctly.

Hello @jldaureil,

 

First of all, thanks for reporting because you're perfectly right the Base Color hasn't the same pattern as the rest of the outputs in this material.

 

As you already said, the problem doesn't come from the Larch's graph, but the Parquet Bond Filter one. If you open up the filter (RMB > Open Reference), you'll see that the variation in the Base Color starts with the Pixel Processor node.

 

For now, I'd advise you to simply use another similar material from the Substance 3D Assets library. Larch Wood Parquet Checkerboard seems like a decent replacement.

 

 

I'll make sure the artists in charge of the library are aware of this issue and if you really need specifically the Larch Wood Parquet Bond material, just let me know and I'll try to take a deeper look at the graph later on.
