Start with a shape, horizontal lines ( a tiled gradient) and a Dynamic Gradient (set to vertical orientation) to get the basic rings.

After that it is transforming, warping, adding noise, cells and colour to get the effect you want.

I see some wood material in substnace sampler is sbsar.

Could we use these file in order to add wood end grain effect?
