node lines colors is custom?
can they be changed from grey to custom color?

Not that I am aware of. They are already colour coded by function:
Grey for greyscale
Orange for colour
Green for value
Light green for connection to collapsed multi input/output
Red dotted for invalid connection
Grey dotted for connected nodes without cached thumbnails
