Regarding Substance Designer Not Responding

I am using Substance Designer 2021.1.2 (11.1.2). My Computer has an Intel i9 (10th Gen), Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090, 64 GB Ram.

I have updated all of my drivers (GPU to Nvidia Studio Driver Ver. 471.11) and I am still having an issue when I attempt to start a new Substance in Designer.

Are there any other measures to consider, or any advice I can receive to make this work? I have seen options to open an older file, but I want to have the software function as intended.

Hello,

You have mentioned making changes in the Windows Registry Editor. To clarify:

The issues you described appear to be indeed connected the OpenGL rendering instance of the 3D View. Such issues may be caused by using multiple screens in combination with display scaling. In these cases, resetting the entire user interface layout of Substance 3D Designer may help.

Close Substance 3D Designer. In the Windows Registry Editor, delete this folder for the Adobe subscription version:

Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Adobe\Adobe Substance 3D Designer

Or this folder for the Substance edition:

Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Allegorithmic\Substance Designer

Start Substance 3D Designer, and please let me know if performing these steps helped. I will be happy to provide other troubleshooting steps if the issue persists.

Thank you for your patience!

Thank you for your response. I took that step, along with changing the
registry to allow for the TDR timing to be at 60. This seems to have worked.

Hello Cohen,

That is great news! The TDR change will also definitely go a long way to making Substance 3D Designer more stable.

Have fun using the Substance 3D tools!

Best regards.

Update:

Was able to open new file, for reasons unknown. Now having issues interacting with 3D Display Window. One Click and the whole Program Freezes.

Update:

I have upgraded to the Adobe Version (not sure what else to call it), and issue seems worse. Program was trying to update, but it stops at the update report step.

Having looked up possible solutions, I have gone into regedit and removed the log file for Substance, but the issue continues. Am considering a reinstall, but not sure what else to do. Any suggestions are helpful.
