Question

SD 16.0.0 Baker Render Tile smaller compared to previous versions

Was using Substance Designer to transfer/bake textures from one UV to another.

Previous version (v13.1.2) was using 512x512 tiles in baker, while current one (v16.0.0) uses 64x64 pixel render tiles and takes way more time to complete same task.

Is there some kind of hidden setting that I have to change in order to achieve same performance from 2026 version of Substance Designer compared to 2023 ?

How have you set the baker’s default values, visible in the baker set up dialogue?

I’m not talking about size of baked texture.

I’m talking about size of a tile that is processed when baking.

Thanks for the clarification. I am using v16.0.0 here and transferred texture bakes using a 512x512 render tile using an RTX3090 24GB CPU. I cannot see where that render tile size is set though, or whether it is set automatically.

I’ll tag Adobe’s @Luca Giarrizzo to see if he can give any pointers
