should i change render engine? for what?

hi dave i got a i5-12400 and a rx6600 (non supported card for rendering in iray/ cycles [in blender]), should i change the render engine to SSE2? what is the difference? ( i rarely use much the 3d view if this info helps)

There is a render engine Iray/OpenGL and an engine for calculating the graph itself. As you can imagine there are many calculations involved in a complex node set up, particularly if high bit depth and high pixel sizes are used. The GPU based engine speeds up these calculations considerably.

Many nodes are designed to work with the GPU to calculate the node itself (this is not about rendering 3D view). Are you having problems - if you are not I would leave it set the way it is (GPU). If you encounter issues then switch with F9.
