Question

Substance Designer Sync (Version Control) and Python

Hi,

Apparently Substance Designer Sync uses a Version Control script coded in Python 2.7 (EOL) and the script is not compatible with more recent versions of Python.

How could we continue the use of Substance Designer Sync (Version Control) with any supported Python?

Hi,
You're probably not using one of the last version of Designer in which you can find a warning that says this feature is about to be removed.
We recommend to use the Python API instead, you can find documentation that should help you to build an equivalent of the old version control system.
Follow this link for documentation : https://helpx.adobe.com/substance-3d-designer/scripting/application-callbacks.html

Best regards,
Céline

Hi Céline!

Is Adobe going to provide a new script or feature for the Substance Designer Sync in the future or is the intention for maintenance of the version control to be done by the customers with the Python API with the new versions of Substance Designer?

Do you know what version will remove this feature or how long do we have time to use the current Version Control feature.

Thanks!

Tero
