Question

Workflow for FX Map Color blending?

Experimenting on a grass generator FX Map node with various masks + height packed into RGBA but I'm struggling to achieve the correct blending/layering of elements (bottom image). Pretty new to it. Not sure if my workflow is bad or if its just a limitation of FX Maps.

Considering just making 4 variations of grayscale FX Map but hoping to avoid having to make a bunch of matching variables to sync the parameters.

Hello!

Thank you for reaching out and sharing these images.

FX-Maps do have limitations although I would need to know more about the color and alpha blending method you are currently using, and what is going on in the Switch and Quadrant nodes. Can you share the SBS file with the current implementation?

Also, maybe instead of masks you could generate a single ID map that you can use to extract masks later?

Best regards.
